Safety regulations for cold treatment

    The cold treatment operation is not complicated. It is to put the workpiece quenched to room temperature in the freezer in time (about -80 ℃). When the workpiece reaches the cold treatment temperature, it is properly maintained for 1 to 2 hours, and it can be taken out and placed in the air. The cold treatment is essentially the continuation of quenching and cooling. Allow the steel to cool below the Mz point and stay for a certain period of time to make the transformation of residual austenite to martensite as complete as possible, wait for it to slowly warm to room temperature, and then perform tempering treatment.

In order to ensure production safety, the following operating procedures must be followed during cold processing.

   (1) Before the workpiece is cold-treated, the oil stain on the workpiece must be thoroughly and carefully cleaned and dried. This is because oil pollution and water may cause a violent chemical reaction with the cooling medium (especially liquid oxygen) to cause an explosion.

   (2) It is not allowed to smoke near freezing appliances, because when the air contains a certain amount of ammonia, it may cause combustion and explosion.

   (3) During the cold treatment operation, you must wear work clothes and long shoes, wear cotton gloves and protective glasses to avoid liquid coolant splashing on your body.

   (4) When placing the workpiece in the cooler or removing the workpiece from the cooler, use a long-handled tool to avoid direct contact with the cooler.
